Shooting Investigation in Santa Maria

On Christmas morning, December 25, 2017 at approximately 0137 hrs, SMPD responded to shots fired in the 1200 block of W. Bethel. Thus far, the investigation revealed a 29 year male suffered a minor gunshot wound to the leg from a small caliber handgun. The victim was transported to Marian Medical center where he was treated and released a short time later.

The 2 unidentified suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction in a white, mid 2000's model Ford F150.

This is an on-going investigation. SMPD investigators are asking the public for assistance in this investigation. The shooting was committed with a handgun and the suspects are considered armed/dangerous. SMPD investigators are urging the public to contact the SMPD with any information.
