Sheriff Partners with IV for Sexual Assault Awareness Month

by Edhat Staff

The Isla Vista Safe Committee and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department recently released two videos in support of Sexual Assault Awareness Month this year. Their hope is that survivors of sexual assault will feel more comfortable coming forward to report a sexual assault.

The Santa Barbara County’s Sheriff’s Department pledges “we stand with survivors.”

The Isla Vista Safe Committee was created in March 2014 by Santa Barbara District Attorney Joyce Dudley in response to increasing concerns about the safety of those visiting, living and working in Isla Vista.

These are the first two videos of a series that will be released throughout the month.
