  1. Just to update folks who don’t follow Noozhawk or Nextdoor, the suspect, Loren Allen, 44, of Goleta, was arrested IV just before 5 pm on the date of the crime. The suspect was positively identified by the victim, and items recovered in the Ellwood area showed his presence.

  2. No, Pimix, I do not. Risk of getting the virus? Hmm, for one do ya think this guy is “risk-averse”? That is, he considers the risks of potential actions ahead of time. He stalked and punched a woman in the face. So, no, I don’t think he’s really thinking that way, nor is Law a risk assessment type game. You break a law and you deal with the consequences. Go to jail. Maybe get COVID. That’s the stakes.
Number two, I’m not Christian and and I don’t think we’re “a christian nation” either. That’s long passed. See Pilgrim times. There’s a lot of religious and non religious diversity here now.
This guy and others who would do something like that to another person need to be punished for their actions, in my opinion.

  3. Basic, don’t you think going to jail with the risk of getting the virus is punishment enough? I always marvel at people who seem to want the jail experience to be worse than it is already, in our supposedly Christian nation.
