Sheriff were pursuing a vehicle on the 101 southbound that ended near Mission with the driver foot bailing around the westside
Setting up a perimeter in the area
Apparently the vehicle is at the scene, driver fled
From between San Pascual ,Valerio and Islay to the tracks.
The fleeing suspect is possibly armed with a handgun. I believe the SO knows his ID, and he has a felony record (big surprise). PD has a K-9 on scene and SO is paging out an SO K-9 and helicopter.
Copter 2 en route from Santa Ynez.
Suspect was trying to house in the 500 block of Wentworth.
Tagdes; yes, suspect has prior contacts at an apartment in the 500 block. PD is on it. One of his pals apprehended at the pursuit termination has a record for 245 PC (ADW).
Copter passing over the pass now.
Wait till the nextdoor website goes bat crazy with questions
It already is.
Don’t people know to go to edhat?
And don't people know to go indoors and check their doors and lock them?
Which I just did as a matter of course! Whew, I locked my slider several hours ago.
Apparently not. I check here first thing for SB stuff
Called SBPD they didn't know. Called Sheriff and yes they are looking for someone. Asked if public should be concerned is there is any danger. They said if there was there would be an alert via text. Doesn't really make me feel any better. This has been going on for at least 45 minutes.
They don't want to tell you during a search incase you are helping the suspect
No luck so far. Copter 2 going back over RR tracks checking for heat signatures. All they have found is homeless folks so far. Dogs didn't get a good track. This guy is either hunkered down or in the wind. Sheriff's are taking down the search as of 10:06. However, they do have the car and the ID of the person associated. But not much in the way of criminal charges.
JB86. Thank you for the great reporting.
Minibeast: you are welcome. It doesn't always turn out the way we hope, but there is always tomorrow, and the bad guys will turn up again and eventually pay the price.
Great reporting everyone! Thank you so much.
Circled around the Modoc Mission San Pascual neighborhood for a while. No searchlights, so are using infrared now.
