Shed Fire in Goleta

By the edhat staff
Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a shed fire Friday afternoon in Goleta.
At 1:13 p.m., crews responded to the 5000 block of San Vicente Drive off Walnut Lane and discovered a 12x12 foot shed on fire in a residential backyard.
Crews extinguished the shed and prevented it from spreading to any nearby structures.
According to multiple reporting parties it appeared a power line to a light pole had dropped onto the shed, sparking the fire.
There were no injuries and the official cause is under investigation.

Aug 06, 2022 11:33 PMWhew. I hope they get some recompense from Edison. Edison's been in my backyard re: my trees and utility pole at least once a year for several years. I must commend their tree trimmers, whom I've worked with each time. I was impressed with their knowledge and restraint.

Aug 07, 2022 05:41 AMDoes anyone know if that particular downed power line resulted in the power outage experienced in the El sueno and Sherwood drive area that afternoon? Haven't gotten an answer from Edison about the cause of the outage.
