Sheared fire hydrant on South Milpas, across from the batting cages.
There was a gusher on the lower Eastside of Santa Barbara today when a vehicle leaving a business on Hutash and Milpas clipped a hydrant. The spout could be seen for miles. (Video: Dalton Parker, Ed Edick) pic.twitter.com/SuNuOZULdi

Dec 20, 2022 02:59 PMI swear that same hydrant gets sheared off every every couple of years. Why can’t the city figure out that it’s a really bad spot and either move it or put in adequate protection?
But no…it’s easier to just repair it and put the same pole back in place and watch all that water go down the storm drains. Lame.
