Had time to my take my the kids to the beach this morning to test out their surfboards at the Santa Claus Beach. We always fly the drone to look in the ocean because of recent shark sightings. Since surf camps are on the beach, we wanted to share.

Yep, lots of sharky behavior today ... I was down there form approx noon onward to watch my kid at one of the surf camps. Went for a swim at around 2, we got cleared out of the water after one of the SUP instructor patrols saw one.
I was photographing my kid’s camp surfing contest heat (water’s edge, facing towards horizon) to suddenly see ... a plump and large shark breach for a side-flop about 50 (?) yards outside the gang waiting for waves (my kid included). Perfect silhouette in the afternoon sun, huge head & torso & long pointy side fins - everything out of the water except for the tail. The stuff of a nature show... with my kid in the foreground. Nope - didn’t get a photo. They cleared the water again quickly. Surf contest over.
