Sex Registrant Compliance Operation in North County

On Tuesday, February 18, 2020, approximately 40 law enforcement officers from several local agencies took part in a Sex Registrant Compliance Operation. Twenty different locations in Santa Maria, Orcutt, Guadalupe, and Los Alamos were checked and 21 total parolees and probationers and their residences were searched. The purpose of this operation was to verify that sex registrants remain in compliance with their registration requirements. Seven total registrants were arrested and booked into county jail for either parole or probation violations. Additionally, two of the arrestees have pending charges for additional crimes, including possession of child pornography.

This compliance operation was conducted by members of the Santa Maria Police Department, California State Parole, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Santa Barbara County Probation Department, and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
