Seven Vehicles Involved in Highway 101 Collision

A total of seven vehicles collided due to a high-speed driver swerving through traffic on Highway 101 early Saturday morning.

At 6:01 a.m., Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a report of a multi-vehicle accident near the Los Alamos southbound offramp. When crews arrived on scene they discovered seven vehicles had collided, with one towing a trailer. 

Captain Dave Zaniboni stated the collision was caused by a high-speed vehicle swerving in and out of traffic causing major damage to many vehicles.

A total of four patients were transported by two ground ambulance to Marian Medical Hospital. All suffered from minor injuries.

Highway 101 southbound was shut down to one lane during the morning hours. California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
