Section of Foothill Road Closed Due to Broken Water Main

A significant water main break has resulted in the full closure of State Route 192 at 2751 Foothill Road, causing disruptions for travelers in the Santa Barbara area.

The break, which occurred in the center of the roadway, was reported on Tuesday morning, prompting immediate response from local authorities.

Emergency crews are on the scene, working diligently to address the break and repair the damaged infrastructure. However, due to the location of the break and the extent of the required repairs, it remains uncertain when SR 192 will be reopened to traffic.

In the meantime, detour routes have been established to facilitate the flow of traffic around the affected area. Commuters and travelers passing through the area are advised to follow detour signs and plan extra time into their travel schedules to accommodate for potential delays.

Local officials are urging drivers to exercise caution and patience as the repair work continues. The closure of SR 192 is expected to impact local traffic significantly, and travelers are encouraged to seek alternative routes if possible.
