Search for Suspicious Person Near Hiking Trail

Source: Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office

Sheriff’s Deputies, Search and Rescue volunteers, Santa Barbara County Firefighters and AMR paramedics responded to a report of a man slumped over and possibly in need of medical care around 1:15 p.m. [Monday] near Tunnel Road and Rattlesnake Canyon.

When a hiker stopped to ask if the man needed help, he reportedly made a threatening statement. Sheriff’s deputies with the assistance of a SB County Sheriff/Fire helicopter searched for the man to make sure he was not armed/dangerous and/or in need of medical care.

Although at this time, he wasn’t located, we thank the hiker who did the right thing and reported the suspicious circumstances by calling 911 right away.

  1. This occurred this week, and is truly creepy:…………………..KARNS CITY, Pa. (KDKA) — A juvenile from Butler County told state police he was attacked in the woods by a person wearing a clown mask Saturday evening. It happened around 7:45 p.m. in Karns City. According to state police, a boy said he was near a wooded hillside beside Hooker Road and Kittaning Pike when he heard a woman scream. The boy told police someone wearing a clown mask then emerged from the woods with a metal baseball bat, struck the boy in his right knee cap, then ran back into the woods.
