Search Continues for Missing Lompoc Man

Searches are still being conducted for 27-year-old Zacharey Taylor Wilks, who has not been seen since leaving Lompoc to visit family in May.

Wilks left his Prune Avenue home on May 24 with the plan to drive overnight to Las Vegas to visit his aunt and uncle. When he didn’t arrive the next morning, his family grew concerned.

They contacted law enforcement and began searching around the route he would have traveled to Nevada. His bank accounts and credit cards are intact and his phone is turned off, although it last pinged in New Cuyama on the day he disappeared.

A drone pilot was hired to fly along the entire route to see if any vehicle crashes, cliffs, or canyons might provide some clues but so far nothing has turned up.

Facebook group now has nearly 1,000 members dedicated to finding Wilks. Messages state this is out of character for the happy 27-year-old. A GoFundMe page has raised over $10,000 to help with search expenses.

Wilks is 5’10”, 180 lbs with hazel eyes and brown hair. He was last seen driving a black 1994 Honda Civic with Acura rims and a California license plate 7SGR202.

Anyone with information should contact the Lompoc Police Department at (805) 736-2341.
