Search and Rescue Aids with Mandatory Evacuations

Source: Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue (SBCSAR)

[Sunday] morning at 10am, SBCSAR teams began going door-to-door conducting mandatory evacuations for potential flood/debris flows in the areas affected by the Alisal Fire. This evacuation comes before a storm expected to arrive in the overnight hours and continue into Monday. Storm totals have been forecasted to be between 1-1.5” with higher amounts in some areas.

SBCSAR will have Swift Water Rescue technicians on patrol in high clearance vehicles and staged around the area should they be needed to conduct any rescues.

Santa Barbara County Search & Rescue is a professional, all volunteer and unpaid 501(c)3 organization that is community supported by generous giving to provide services to the County of Santa Barbara under the direction of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.
