The gull looks as though it has been dead, on the sand for a while; the fish looks quite fresh. More likely to me is that someone put a fish in the beak of the dead gull.
I can't see any signs of it being staged. There should be marks on the sand, and the fish and the gull have natural looking sand on them.
People choke to death, no reason a bird can't. Doesn't make this true, but its possible
This is pretty comical. Seagulls are the MOST annoying when it comes to food, and this guy died while trying to eat something too big. Hahaha. Rest in peace.
