School Lockdowns Lifted After Police Investigate Man with Gun

Two Goleta schools were placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon after a report was made of a man with a gun in the area.
Just before 2:00 p.m., Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the Evergreen Park looking for a white male in a blue and white flannel who appeared to have a gun.
The Sheriff's Office locked down Brandon and Montessori Schools and sent an alert to residents to stay out of the area.
A helicopter arrived to survey the area from above and was able to guide deputies to the suspect in the creek behind Waldorf School.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the suspect was carrying a pellet gun and was released on the scene.
Schools were reopened and responding officers went back into service.
