Southern California Edison (SCE) has notified affected customers that it is considering a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in parts of Santa Barbara County due to an increased risk for wildfires. This outage may begin as soon as 3:00 p.m. today, October 27, though it may occur earlier or later depending on actual weather conditions.

The PSPS areas under consideration include the Gaviota Coast area between Tajiguas and Farren Rd and addresses in the Painted Cave, Patterson/Turnpike/Calle Real/Highway 154 areas. SCE has notified all residents/businesses who are in the area under consideration but if you want to double check, you can enter your address here.

An SCE Community Resource Center will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. today at the Residence Inn in Old Town Goleta at 6350 Hollister Avenue. This is a place where people affected by a PSPS can go to charge their devices and get information.

Call SCE at 1-800-611-1911 or visit https://www.sce.com/outage-center/check-outage-status for more information on this potential outage.
