  1. Yeah let’s all go to that 7 November SCE infomercial. Unfurl a sign and take a speaker slip (oh maybe they won’t offer–take the floor anyway) demanding BURY THE DAMN LINES/COST-BENEFIT OBVIOUS. And I wouldn’t take the dozen squirming sycophantic excuses we will hear. The full burden belongs on SCE, PG&E and all their shareholders–not us.

  2. We, the Community, here in Santa Barbara County, have endured an unimaginable amount of repetitive trauma. Allowing Edison to administer the final knockout to us is painful to contemplate. A bottle of water at a charging station they provide is an insult. Edison, you “saved” for years by not updating your equipment…and gave bonuses to your CEO and Board. So, now you must pay. Instead, provide hotel rooms in safe areas, at your shareholder’s expense. Provide food vouchers at good restaurants. Provide gift certificates to Costco, Target, Von’s, etc., so evacuated young families can buy baby formula and diapers . Provide safety rides for seniors. Provide personal aids to disabled people. Just DON’T provide platitudes!

  3. SCE did not just spend profits on “lavish dinners”. PEW reports: “In California, home to nearly half the electric vehicles (EVs) now on U.S. roads, the Public Utilities Commission last year approved plans for three of the state’s largest utilities — Pacific Gas and Electric, Southern California Edison and San Diego Gas and Electric — to build more than 12,500 charging stations at workplaces, apartment complexes and public locations for about $200 million.” Subsidizing wealthy Tesla and other electric car owners offering cash rebates also drained capital improvement funding. Green alternative transportation does not run off free energy from the sun or wind.
