Scanner Reports 7-10-17

First of all I’d like to personally thank the fire personnel that are out there on the line fighting these horrible fires. I wish I could help, but I have asthma. Smoke and me don’t mix. You folks out there in this heat and winds; I hope our county is taking care of you guys and gals. You deserve all that is good in your life because that is what you give fighting these fires. You give your all to save folks you don’t even know. Bless You.

I have a real hard time knowing that there are animals out there that cannot escape and are dying in these fires. I love critters, they keep me going when I want to give up and throw in the towel, which I think about now and then. A critter will show up that needs attention, like my Joey Cannoli likes to get rubbed or scratched behind his ears. I forget all about myself petting him or feeding the Fish Heads, one and two. There is nothing like splattering fish poop in your eye first thing in the morning while cleaning an aquarium. I could almost swear the Fish Heads are laughing at me, little Bass turds. I mean Beta turds.

On FRYday when I was walking back from the doctor’s office, I saw an older white Lab lying next to a homeless gal in her 50’s in front of CVS. She had a grocery cart with a little plastic in it. I don’t normally give out money unless I know someone and I have money, which I don’t. But there was that beautiful older doggie and I’d rather feed her than myself. So I gave the woman a few bucks to feed her dog. I had no doubt she would feed the dog because, though they were most likely homeless, or maybe poor, the dog looked healthier than the woman.

Right after I wrote about how Joey Cannoli likes a good rub, he came in here. He must have been reading over my shoulder, little snot.

The animal rescue teams are out there too, rescuing all the wild life they can from these fires. I’m pretty sure they could use some help, please give them a call and volunteer. Thank you.

Bettervia at Simas, illegal burn. Someone reported a transient with a grocery cart lighting a fire. The fire department responded and found no fire or subject fitting that description. Later on, a white Ford Expedition was seen leaving this area where two fires were burning.
Stolen auto recovery at CVS Pharmacy on Calle Real in Goleta, a 2011 Toyota Corolla.
Medical call foot injury at MTD 1020 Chapala.
Anapamu and Bath, domestic.
Medical call head injury 1400 block of Cliff Drive.
Poacher with a rifle, 2800 block of Long Valley Road. He was found in the 3300 block of Long Valley Road, Texas plates on his truck.
Traumatic injury, 1000 block of North Broadway, a case of battery.
I don’t know if it was true or not but heard there was a 13 Year old gunshot victim in one of our hospitals, sounded like Cottage. The wound was to the chest.
7700 and 7100 blocks of Foxen Canyon, two vegetation fires. This was where the Expedition was seen leaving the scene.

Smoke investigation, palm fronds hitting the wires, 900 block of West Anapamu.
Suspicious couple passed out or sleeping in a suspicious red convertible in the 2600 block of De La Vina.
Medical call, front of the County Jail.
Suspicious circumstances, 200 Block of Elise Way.
Subject chased by neighbor during ongoing neighborly feud, doesn’t know where he is. In the 4500 block of Cathedral Oaks says his neighbor and his girlfriend was chasing him with a knife. Later on, the neighbor was trying to break down a door with a gun. On El Sueno. Tthen there was a unknown type medical emergency on El Sueno, so someone got caught up to.
Two medical calls at the new and improved Santa Barbara County Jail.
Premises check alongside the RR tracks, 1800 block of East Cabrillo.
Subject checking mail boxes in the 100 block of Calle Morales.
Suicidal transient possibly at PATH.
Vegetation fire near Camp Whittier, started from a vehicle fire on Highway 154, seventeen miles north of the City. The rest is going to be history, I’m sorry to say.
Medical call man down next to a silver PT Cruiser in the parking lot of Rite Aid, 35 South Milpas.
Domestic in the 500 block of West Sola. Some punk yelling beating someone inside a residence in that block.
Found property behind 2500 block of Treasure Drive.
Package stolen off a front porch in the 1900 block of Garden Street.
Subject cruising around Goleta, sipping a can of beer, in a gray Mercury.
Someone called in for a smoke investigation outside in the 2800 block of DLV. They said there was this huge plume of white smoke north of that location.
At the beach in Carpinteria, subject chasing people around with a hatchet. Not sure if they caught up with him then or later.
Animal abuse on the beach, La Playa at Camino Corto. BMA kicking a pit bull wearing a muzzle.
El Cap State Beach, traumatic injury, unknown type.
Loud music, 100 block of West Victoria.
Animal Control needed to take custody of a dog from SBPD, unknown circumstances.
Fall victim head injury 1820 DLV, Room 109.
Animal bite, did not say what kind, 5400 block of Pacific Oaks, Hobsons Beach.
Medical call at the Casino for a bee sting.
Female detained in a backyard in the 200 block of Santa Barbara Street, unknown trespasser or prowler.
Silver Honda Civic doing donuts in the parking lot of Cabrillo High School.
I went out to look at the almost full moon on Saturday evening. It was orange. Someone ought to go up there and put a big Edhat sticker on it.
Report of a large bonfire in a backyard in the 500 block of Arroyo.
Domestic, possible assault, in the 3900 block of Via Lucero.
Stolen white Mercedes, 400 block of West Montecito.
Vehicle accident possibly involving fire equipment heading to the Alamo Fire, Andrew at Santa Maria Mesa.
Domestic, State Street and Arrellaga.

Non injury hit and run, 3025 DLV, Trader Joes. Vehicle was a silver or a white truck.
Transients loitering on the bus bench, 222 North Milpas. Guess they are not letting anyone else use it. I saw these two guys leaving McDonalds the other day screaming and yelling at the folks there, even yelling at this poor gal on the bus bench. I don’t know what happened, but I think yelling at that gal was uncalled for.
Camper on another bus bench, Milpas at Mason.
Laceration on the arm, 1300 Block of Salinas Place.
Santa Barbara County Jail, hanging. Unknown if the subject survived.
Former guest refusing to leave Motel 6, 400 block of Corona Del Mar.
Wanted subject, 700 block of State Street. Had a couple warrants.
Medical call, 400 block of North G Street, unknown type.
Check the area of Bank of the West on State Street for a subject harassing passersby.
4400 block of Ellwood Beach Road for a subject having an NBD.
Theft investigation Cottage ER, 320 West Pueblo.
1116 DLV, medical call, numbness in the arm, Garden Court.
Check the welfare of a hot dog in a vehicle, Casitas Pass Albertsons. Dog in a Dodge Ram, panting.
Medical call, SB Pubic Library, fall victim.
Lazy Acres, couple in a Lexus, the male peed in the parking lot. Man hunt in progress.
Hollister at Walnut, vehicle accident.
Jet ski vs sailboat water rescue on Stearn’s Wharf. Accident occurred out on the water. One victim transported to Cottage last I heard.
