Scanner Reports 5-8-19

By Roger the Scanner Guy

As many times as I have been to Cottage Hospital’s ER, I have never seen a nurse playing cards and I have been there many times. I saw a conversation on Facebook the other day where some knucklehead kept saying “Nurses play cards” over and over again. NOT AT COTTAGE THEY DON’T! They are very busy there much of the time. Especially with all the drunks who cannot walk, if a drunk is getting picked up and cannot walk to the patrol vehicle be transported to jail or the sober center, they have to be transported to Cottage via AMR code 2. At Cottage Hospital they spend several hours being detoxed and are released back into a police officers custody until they can function again. At that time they are transported to either the Sober center or Jail it’s a long process and very costly for taxpayers.

If a Homeless person goes to Cottage Hospital and has an illness or injury that requires aftercare they can only be released from Cottage Hospital. After the person has been placed in a homeless shelter it is required I’m not sure if it’s by law or by the hospital, I believe it’s law. Cottage Hospital Nurses are very busy they are constantly working, running back and forth, if you see them sitting at all they are behind a computer. If you don’t believe it go check it out for yourself but you might want to wear a face mask so you do not come in contact with any germs. If you think that being a nurse is not a stressful job feel free to go back to school to do it yourself. Here are your Scanner Reports.

  1. I posted that around the time I was hearing the police had engaged with the suspect I had no idea what was going on and I’m SNOT a professional journalist nor am I sorry because you think you are better than everyone else@LETMEGO…The incident with the stand off wasn’t the only call I was confused about the guys entering the homes freaked me out a bit. I had no real sleep for 2 days wait till you get old you will experience this too. Walked 5 miles the day before in the weather not bad unless you have arthritis and other things extremely tired is all in the middle of everything my mother called and wanted an address…? I fell down 3 times I cannot walk anymore but go ahead give me shit because I heard Lockdown…

  2. Thank you for so much, Roger. You have a calming influence during a crisis and you proved it again yesterday during the horrible felon against police (and our community) terror. In the report today you said “Let me the HELL outta here”. I get it.

  3. Inure. It means accustom (someone) to something, especially something unpleasant, “these children have been inured to violence”. Synonym: harden. My heart goes out to the children at San Marcos High School who were locked down, again. Their poor parents, scared, again. Neighborhood on alert, again. Thank you to all Edhatters who posted yesterday, helpful updating. Thank you Roger for your usual excellence in keeping us informed. Thank you Edhat, for being. You’re the best! You’re ALL the best!

  4. San Marcos was actually on “lockout”, not “lockdown”. There’s a difference, but apparently NONE of the news outlets know the difference. Sadly, our children do, because they practice regularly, even in kindergarten.

  5. LETMEGO, lockout makes sense. I want appreciate and thank all teachers and administrators for their bravery to our children and the community. They have become something like prison guards in schools during lockout. Unlike guards in prison who keep prisoners from getting out, our schools keep bad people from getting in … most of the time.

  6. I feel bad for the person on Broadmoor who was served an eviction notice by their landlord, then understandably weeping (because dang, who can find first last and deposit on short notice these days, or be able to find an affordable rental on short notice?) but not only that, they’re obviously upset, and then the landlord calls the cops on them. What a bad day. I hope their life gets better.

  7. BUG GIRL. Who knows the true story on this eviction? As a landlord, I am becoming more and more “inured” to the shenanigans and lies and “I’m sorry” baloney tenants dish out when it comes time to pay rent or to own up to damage done to my property.
