As many times as I have been to Cottage Hospital's ER, I have never seen a nurse playing cards and I have been there many times. I saw a conversation on Facebook the other day where some knucklehead kept saying "Nurses play cards" over and over again. NOT AT COTTAGE THEY DON'T! They are very busy there much of the time. Especially with all the drunks who cannot walk, if a drunk is getting picked up and cannot walk to the patrol vehicle be transported to jail or the sober center, they have to be transported to Cottage via AMR code 2. At Cottage Hospital they spend several hours being detoxed and are released back into a police officers custody until they can function again. At that time they are transported to either the Sober center or Jail it's a long process and very costly for taxpayers.

If a Homeless person goes to Cottage Hospital and has an illness or injury that requires aftercare they can only be released from Cottage Hospital. After the person has been placed in a homeless shelter it is required I'm not sure if it's by law or by the hospital, I believe it's law. Cottage Hospital Nurses are very busy they are constantly working, running back and forth, if you see them sitting at all they are behind a computer. If you don't believe it go check it out for yourself but you might want to wear a face mask so you do not come in contact with any germs. If you think that being a nurse is not a stressful job feel free to go back to school to do it yourself. Here are your Scanner Reports.

Lockdown, lockout seems to pretty much mean the same, kids kept in the school buildings. It's like, "You say tomato, I say tomatough", from the old song. Does it really matter?

What's up with all these home entries! Makes me want to laugh from across the country but I'd totally freak out and shart my drawers if it happened to me.

Thanks Rodger, you are calming and informative during a crisis. Cottage nurses, work hard ! I was there a few years ago for a surgery. Long shifts, kind...

Bug Girl: perhaps the landlord was worried that the evicted lady was potentially a danger to herself due to her emotional reaction. 911 isn’t just for criminal activity.

I feel bad for the person on Broadmoor who was served an eviction notice by their landlord, then understandably weeping (because dang, who can find first last and deposit on short notice these days, or be able to find an affordable rental on short notice?) but not only that, they're obviously upset, and then the landlord calls the cops on them. What a bad day. I hope their life gets better.

BUGGIRL: If the LL successfully obtained an unlawful detainer order (i.e. eviction notice) then this tenant was no prize and perhaps should learn a lesson rather than promoting some sob story. Please.

BUG GIRL. Who knows the true story on this eviction? As a landlord, I am becoming more and more "inured" to the shenanigans and lies and "I'm sorry" baloney tenants dish out when it comes time to pay rent or to own up to damage done to my property.

LETMEGO, lockout makes sense. I want appreciate and thank all teachers and administrators for their bravery to our children and the community. They have become something like prison guards in schools during lockout. Unlike guards in prison who keep prisoners from getting out, our schools keep bad people from getting in ... most of the time.

Inure. It means accustom (someone) to something, especially something unpleasant, "these children have been inured to violence". Synonym: harden. My heart goes out to the children at San Marcos High School who were locked down, again. Their poor parents, scared, again. Neighborhood on alert, again. Thank you to all Edhatters who posted yesterday, helpful updating. Thank you Roger for your usual excellence in keeping us informed. Thank you Edhat, for being. You're the best! You're ALL the best!

I had no real sleep for 2 days wait till you get old you will experience this too. Walked 5 miles the day before in the weather not bad unless you have arthritis and other things extremely tired is all in the middle of everything my mother called and wanted an address...? I fell down 3 times I cannot walk anymore but go ahead give me shit because I heard Lockdown...

San Marcos was actually on "lockout", not "lockdown". There's a difference, but apparently NONE of the news outlets know the difference. Sadly, our children do, because they practice regularly, even in kindergarten.

Thank you for so much, Roger. You have a calming influence during a crisis and you proved it again yesterday during the horrible felon against police (and our community) terror. In the report today you said "Let me the HELL outta here". I get it.
