Scanner Reports 3-16-20

By Roger the Scanner Guy

I call my Mom every Sunday Morning no matter what unless one of us is busy as I have for years. It is the only way we can relate as we never got along. On Sunday mornings we are usually pleasant to each other. I called her yesterday and she was getting ready to go to the hospital as she was in agony with her arm swelled up from a shot she was given by her doctor, she was almost crying but not quite unable to dress herself. She was waiting for her Sister In Law to arrive and take her. She was telling me that no one has any patience for her anymore and they treat her like crap. She said this is probably “It” for her as far as freedom so she was trying to enjoy her last cigarette and cup of Lipton tea which she has every morning for 78 years or so, then she said she is the only one who has ever suffered to which I almost laughed but held back by some miracle. I said, “What about those poor young kids who join the service and get their arms and legs blown off Mom?” That stopped her from her own plight a moment then she continued on. I remember how she treated me when I was a kid, putting me away in psyche wards, and what her and her Criminal boyfriend did defrauding the Government in my name for thousands of dollars after I had been in a coma from meningitis, basically ruining my life with lawyers trying to have me committed as an adult. I feel no ill will toward her and in fact, I feel really bad she is going through almost the same thing I did, though she is old and cannot take care of herself she is unwilling to accept that she needs help. Hopefully, she will get treated and released back into her home but that may not happen as she is having trouble taking care of herself. Either way, I will not go home as we never got along and even if I did I would not be welcome and the whole insane family reunion just might make me want to have a few kegs of beer and there is no toilet paper.

How has your week been, do you feel as I do that we are stuck in some disaster movie? I was going to ask if anyone knew of some hacks of getting through hard times but it’s all on YouTube.
