Scanner Reports 1-28-18

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Gee, what is up with these young folks nowadays eating and smoking Tide Pods? What the HELL are they thinking? Does that shit really get you high? I would think with all the chemicals in wash soap it’s taking a slow painful track to insanity and death. What kind of stupid shit is someone thinking to do a dare from others on the internet involving that shit when the ass hat daring others to do it never did it they just want to see others in pain. “I’m bad ass I eat Tide Pods.” Ever hear of nerve damage? You don’t want to, I have nerve damage and it SUCKS! You cannot normally function with nerve damage and I don’t, the older you get the worse it gets, you get nerve damage by many things eating and ingesting poison is one of them. I’m against alcohol but it’s safer than that crap.

The area I’m from North West Indiana, there is a lot of pollution, we had a soap plant right up near Lake Michigan in Whiting, Indiana just past North Hammond. Smoke came out of that place back in the day you inhaled those chemicals you tasted that soap it got in your lungs it’s a horrible thing. There were other chemical plants, oil refineries I grew up around but more than the rotten eggs odor that came from Gary, Indiana that soap plant was the worst. There has always been stupidity in finding cheap highs but I think Tide Pods is right up there with Airplane glue and spray paint. My dad worked with paints when I was a kid, I right alongside him we never wore masks didn’t think about it. I was born with asthma I have a rough time now as I did then. You can ruin yourself with those chemicals and you will be sorry the rest of your life if you do. Things can be weird when you’re a kid but don’t do something you will regret the rest of your life. I’m not the smartest apple on the tree but I know what I’m talking about when it comes to doing stupid shit. Lay off the Tide Pods, don’t do chemicals.

I have to take painkillers and I hate them, they are horrible they barely touch the pain I have pulled muscles, a back and neck injury. I laid in bed all night last night in agony, most of my days are spent in pain, I cannot walk far anymore if someone told me Tide Pods would get rid of my pain I’d tell them where to go I know better. The best painkiller is heat for me I love me a hot day sitting in the yard that helps more than anything. Don’t do Tide Pods they will kill you slow and painful.

  1. It’s not about “liking” the scanner report. It’s about using foul language and then refusing to acknowledge that and instead blaming the person who took offense to it and insulting people like me who are sticking up for them. If you and your cronies don’t see that, then there’s nothing I can say further.

  2. Why would anyone let young children read the scanner report There is a lot of suicides and such. Let kids be kids. Also if they are older than 5 They hear worse word wise, I guess the anger is not focused on its real participant Best of luck with that. Rodger Dodger is doing the best he can. I hope it’s like water off a duck with the venomous words you throw.

  3. Although I agree that we should keep our standards high, and avoid profanity, some commenters regularly post things that are venomous and hate-filled without using “dirty words”. Ultimately, it’s the thought that counts, not so much the vocabulary.

  4. Roger, You are greatly appreciated. Not everyone is lucky enough to run into you in person and tell you. You make Edhat a first class news outlet. I get my news from Edhat and from a friend who sends out a news missive weekly. TV news is so depressing I quit watching it. Thanks Roger and Z
    .

  5. Will some people hate me they down voted both your comments but that’s all right if they are paid subscribers they are paying for me too maybe they ought to hate them elves…lol I’m living in their heads rent free. Thank You for your nice comments. 🙂

  6. What’s with the foul language and reference to drugs on this website? Since when did profane language become acceptable (e.g., Does that $hit really get you high)? My grandchildren read this site on my phone app. I do not want them exposed to your gutter talk.

  7. Garth, the Edhat “Nanny” has been out to lunch since the site “re-launched” in this new format. Now it seems they leave it up to the readers to self govern, which ends up being a lot of permanently deleted, albeit completely acceptable, comments simply based on down-votes cast out of spite.

  8. Dear Roger,
I believe this is the first time I’ve logged in since the new format. I’ve sent you fan mail in the distant past, but always hid my handle.
Like many others have said, you are the reason we count on Edhat for breaking news. Plus, I so look fwd to your thoughts on M-W-F. The new format sometimes slows down my efforts to find your scanner reports (you have such a knack with your play on words) but I persist and eventually find your stories (the best part). I love your take on things & respect your opinions. Please keep up the excellent service you provide – you are so appreciated!
I hope today’s sunshine brings you some extra pain relief.

  9. Roger – if someone has a legitimate concern about the language and content on this site, which is supposed to be a family friendly new site, then why are you belittling their concern for their grandchildren? I like your writing, but sometimes you get too aggressive in the face of even the slightest criticism. Please quit that stuff.
