The Santa Barbara International Film Festival hosts its AppleBox Film series show free animated movies for local children.

Arlington Theatre was packed with families to see the popular adventures of Elsa the Snow Queen, Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf in Frozen 2.

Sponsored by Metropolitan Theatres, AppleBox provides free family-oriented programming for film lovers of all ages as well as boxes of popcorn and hot chocolate.

Launched in 2007 with only 200 attendees, AppleBox has since grown to nearly 8000. Open to anyone on a first come first served basis, this program provides a fun, supportive environment to families whose income level may not otherwise allow them access to the movies.

The next movie will take place on Sunday, January 19 at 10:00 a.m. with a showing of Toy Story 4. An encore presentation of Frozen 2 will take place on Saturday, January 25 at 10:00 a.m. Both showings will be at the Arlington Theatre.
