Dogs have always loved to feel the wind in their face. A little dog named Maggie became lost in April 1926 because she had a habit of hitching a ride on the running board of cars. “This is not the first time Maggie has been lost. She climbs on running boards of strange automobiles and is whisked away to strange places.” Running boards fell out of favor as cars became lower and more aerodynamic, but I’ll bet the dogs missed them!
