There were numerous homes built in Santa Barbara in the 1920s that were built of pre-cut lumber, like the Sears-Roebuck houses. Here in California, a similar company named Pacific Ready-Cut supplied materials and plans for homes on the West Coast. One of these Santa Barbara catalog homes built in the Spanish-Colonial Revival style was open for tours in April 1926.

“Through the courtesy of the owners … we will hold this home open beginning Saturday, April 24 until Sunday, May 2. It embodies many unique features never before incorporated in a home in this city and reflects architectural tendencies that will come into vogue during the next five years.”
