Santa Maria Police Announce Missing Mother and Child Safely Located

The Santa Maria Police Department is pleased to report that Maria Guadalupe Hernandez Garcia, 26, and her two-year-old son, Christopher Hernandez Garcia, have been safely located.

We thank the community and media for their assistance in this case. No further details will be released at this time to respect the privacy of those involved.

The Santa Maria Police Department Detective Bureau is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing mother and her two-year-old son, Maria Guadalupe Hernandez Garcia, 26, and Christopher Hernandez Garcia.

Maria and Christopher were last seen by family on the afternoon of November 5, 2024, at their residence in the 300 block of W. Newlove Drive in Santa Maria.

Investigators have determined that Maria does not have access to a cellphone, money, credit or debit cards, or a vehicle. Additionally, she has not had any contact with family members since her disappearance.

Descriptions:
Maria Guadalupe Hernandez Garcia:

  • Hispanic female adult
  • 26 years old
  • Height: 5’0”
  • Weight: 140 lbs.
  • Black hair and brown eyes

Christopher Hernandez Garcia:

  • Hispanic male juvenile
  • 2 years old
  • Height: 2’0”
  • Weight: 50 lbs.
  • Black hair and brown eyes

The clothing worn by Maria and Christopher at the time of their disappearance is unknown. Photos of both have been provided to assist in identification.
