Santa Maria Police Need Help in Sexual Assault Investigations

The Santa Maria Police Department is seeking assistance with identifying suspects in two unrelated sexual assaults.

Between February and March, 2018, a sexual assault occurred in the 1700 block of South Thornburg. During this incident, the suspect was not contacted or identified, however, he was described as a Hispanic male, in his mid-20s, with a short/faded haircut, facial hair and a skull tattoo on his knee.

In March or April 2018, another sexual assault occurred near Guadalupe. In this incident, there were three suspects however none of them were arrested or identified. One suspect was described as a Hispanic male with tattoos on his arms and face. Another suspect was described as a white male with a skeleton tattoo on one of his arms and a heart tattoo near his right eye. The third suspect was described as a black male with a shaved or bald head and tattoos on his arms.

At this time, it does not appear these assaults were related. The Santa Maria Police Department is requesting anyone with information on these crimes or the suspects involved contacted Detective Dix at (805) 928-3781 x 2424. Callers can also call the SMPD Tip Line at (805) 928-3781 x 2677.
