Santa Maria Police Investigate Two Shootings

On Monday, December 14th at about 12:10PM, Santa Maria Police were notified of a shooting victim who arrived at Marian Regional Medical Center. The adult male victim arrived in the Emergency Room by private vehicle.

The victim had sustained a gunshot wound and was treated for his injury. SMPD was able to determine the shooting occurred in the area of Depot and Chapel streets shortly before the victim arrived at the hospital.

Later in the evening at about 7:30PM, SMPD responded to shots heard in the area of the 200 block West Williams. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to MRMC for treatment where he is in critical condition.

Santa Maria Police Department Detectives continue to investigate both shootings and are asking for the public’s assistance with information related to the crimes.
