On Thursday, December 25, 2025, shortly after 2:00 p.m., Santa Maria Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of South Russell Street regarding a report of a subject suffering from a gunshot wound.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult subject who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers and detectives conducted an investigation with the assistance of Santa Maria Police Department Crime Lab personnel.
The investigation is ongoing. At this time, there is no known risk to the public. No foul play is suspected.
