Santa Maria Police Explorers Earn Competition Award

April 6-8 2018, the Santa Maria Police Explorers participated in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Explorer Competition in Santa Clarita, California. 

Santa Maria Police Explorers Isaiah Nogalez, Alexis Brito, Antonio Alonzo, Dulce Garduno, Kevin Pulido, Randy Gonzalez, Lorenzo Morelos, Yerlin Heredia, Jonathan Frausto, Frankie Lemus and Edgar Martinez participated in multiple tactical and physical fitness events including; a Mud Run, Tactical Emergency Medical Support, High Risk Vehicle Stop, Family Disturbance, Obstacle Course, Hostage Rescue, 3-Mile Run, Rock Wall Climb, Active Shooter, Physical Fitness Challenge, Bus Assault and High Risk Search Warrant Service.

The explorer competition included 37 teams from various Law Enforcement agencies from Northern California, Southern California, Nevada and Arizona.

The Santa Maria Police Explorers won 4th place in the High Risk Search Warrant Service.

The Santa Maria Police Council sponsors the Santa Maria Police Explorer Program and generously provided financial support for the explorers to attend this event.

Santa Maria Tire also provided financial support to the Santa Maria Police Explorer Program.
