Santa Maria Police Detectives Arrest Robbery Suspect

On 11/20/24 and 2/8/25 two armed robberies occurred in the City of Santa Maria. One was at the Sunrise Market in the 2800 block of Santa Maria Way, and the other was at Maguey Liquor, located in the 400 block of West Main Street. Two suspects were involved, and both were in possession of handguns during the commission of the crimes.

Santa Maria Police Detectives continued the investigation and, on May 6th, 2025, Raul Muniz, a 34-year-old resident of King City, was arrested in King City, California.

After further investigation, on July 3rd, 2025, Carlos Aguirre (a 30-year-old resident of Santa Maria), was arrested as the remaining suspect in the robberies.

Aguirre was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for the outstanding charges.
