On May 28, 2026, Detectives with the Santa Maria Police Department’s Special Victims Unit arrested Santa Maria resident Eric Servin Perez, 37 years of age, following a lengthy investigation into the possession of child pornography.
The investigation was conducted in partnership with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. During the course of the investigation, Detectives developed information indicating Perez was in possession of illicit material involving minors.
Perez was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on charges related to the possession of child pornography.
The Santa Maria Police Department remains committed to protecting children and aggressively investigating crimes involving the exploitation of minors. We will continue working with our law enforcement partners to identify offenders and hold those responsible accountable for victimizing children.
