Santa Maria Police Arrest Robbery Suspect

On Monday, August 26, 2019, at about 1739 hours, Santa Maria Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery that just occurred at a local market located in the 500 block of E. Boone Street. As officers responded to the store, the victim reported that a male suspect, later identified as 33-year-old Daniel Sarabia of Santa Maria, entered the business, selected various items, and left without paying. When confronted about the theft, Sarabia pulled out a knife and threatened violence against the victim. Fearing for his safety, the victim returned to the store and called the police. Sarabia was able to flee with the stolen property.

As officers arrived in the area, they began to look for the suspect. Officers located Sarabia walking in the area of Broadway and Cook Street, where he was arrested without incident. Sarabia was found to be in possession of a knife and the stolen property.

Sarabia was transported and booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for robbery with bail set at $100,000.00.
