People v. Josue Anguiano, Santa Barbara County Superior Court Case No. 25CR04298
Santa Barbara County District Attorney John Savrnoch announced [Thursday] that a Complaint has been filed against thirty-one year old Josue Anguiano charging him with one felony count of Murder, in violation of Penal Code Section 187(a), for the death of Julio Sanchez Lopez on June 3, 2025, in Santa Maria.

It is further alleged that Mr. Anguiano used a firearm to commit the murder in violation of Penal Code Section 12022.53(d). Mr. Anguiano is also charged with the attempted murder of Pedro Sanchez Rojas, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon, and resisting a police officer with force.
Mr. Anguiano will be arraigned in Santa Maria Superior Court Department 9 on June 5, 2025. He is currently being held at Santa Barbara County Jail on $2 million bail.
