Shooting Investigation – Arrest Made
Date/Time: Sunday, November 9, 2025, at approximately 12:35 AM
Location: 1000 Block of Black Road, Santa Maria

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, at approximately 12:35 AM, Santa Maria Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1000 block of Black Road.

A witness reported that a fight had occurred at a residence in the area, during which one of the involved subjects fired several rounds toward a group of people while fleeing the scene in a silver Honda Civic. 

Upon arrival, officers located several spent shell casings and determined no one was struck by the gunfire. A suspect and vehicle description was broadcast to responding units. Shortly thereafter, officers located the vehicle and conducted a high-risk traffic stop.

The driver, identified as Erik Estrada, a 29-year-old resident of Santa Maria, was detained without incident.

Estrada was positively identified by a witness and subsequently arrested and booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for felony violation of Penal Code 245(a)(2) – Assault with a Firearm.

    • ZIPS – yep, that’s the problem with gun laws. You MAGAts won’t let them be heavily enforced or have any real teeth to them so people charged with gun crimes hardly see the inside of a jail cell.
