Officials cited weather conditions behind the revised dates. The project is expected to continue through mid-November.
The project involves removing existing striping, applying a new chip seal surface, repainting lines, and installing traffic loops.
Pavement Coating Company has been contracted to complete the $3 million project, funded by Measure A, Gas Tax, and SB-1 Gas Tax dollars.
Officials said maintaining safe, well-kept roads is a top priority for residents and city infrastructure.
As part of its Smart City, Safe City programs, the Department of Public Works tracks the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) to assess the condition of streets. Using available funds, including tax revenue from gas purchases, officials conduct annual assessments and develop road projects.
