Santa Barbara Treasures Summed Up in Gift Box

By Kara Pearson

Dylan Star clothing boutique is continuing to make waves within the Santa Barbara community with her new launch of Santa Barbara Treasures Gift Boxes that include goods from several local companies.

Earlier this year, the owner Erica Brown introduced a gift basket program out of her boutique at 1719 State Street,  as a way to connect with customers while still abiding by strict quarantine regulations for retail. The community was a buzz with excitement and flocked to purchase her gift baskets as a means to lift spirits during this time. After her gifting program launch, she was so inspired by the community response to this particular program that she decided to start partnering with local businesses to create weekly giveaways to bring some joy and excitement to her clientele.

Each week she introduced a gift basket for giveaway with prizes from local vendors like Good Lion, Kyle’s Kitchen, Age Management Institute and Crimson Day Spa. Her most recent giveaway was an exclusive Date Night experience that was a collaboration with five other Santa Barbara businesses including Bliss Beach, Jane Restaurant, Riviera Towel Company, Fox Wine and Alexis Ireland florals.

“My goal was to bring local business together during these tough times and create a fun experience that would bring joy to my clients,” said Erica.

Now she has taken this concept one step further and has partnered with fifteen other local SB vendors to come together to create a special gifting box that is a curated collection of local goods. Her biggest local collaboration to date! These limited edition boxes are her way of celebrating the wonderful hometown of Santa Barbara, while simultaneously bringing together local owners.

“As a small business owner, I understand the importance of supporting vendors within our community. Santa Barbara is a really wonderful town that thrives off an entrepreneurial drive and that’s why I got together with other local artisans to create this very special gift box. Each box will have a unique combination of treats – something that our community has never seen before,” said Erica. “It was my way of thanking the community and putting a spotlight on other local businesses that my clients have never seen before.”

The Santa Barbara Treasures Gift Boxes are limited edition and available to purchase online at www.dylanstar.com. A percentage of the proceeds of each purchase will be donated towards the Santa Barbara Food Bank.
