A new venue looking to redefine the traditional bar experience is set to open its doors in Santa Barbara this month.
Scheduled to open at 1129A State Street on March 29, 2026, Beau will offer an immersive experience, built around storytelling, it said in a statement.
The bar is opening at the former space of Crush Bar and Armada Wine.
In addition to a curated selection of wines and beers, Beau will offer small bites designed to complement the drinks. The bar features a warm, 1920s aesthetic, combining vintage elements with an upscale feel.
Beau will also have a retail component, offering sourced goods that extend beyond the drinks.

Created by longtime publicist and entrepreneur Starr Hall, the bar invites guests to slow down and engage with their surroundings.
Beau originated from a year-long creative process involving journals, layered characters, and a space envisioned long before the physical place took shape.
The storytelling element is the centerpiece of the venue, where guests are encouraged to explore and notice the hidden details that may not be apparent at first glance.
The bar is opening with a beer and wine license, as well as a cigar license to offer a “layered, old-world experience.”
Some of the cigars offered at the bar include Punch Signature, Cohiba, Partagás 1845, and Macanudo, according to its Instagram post.

Beau also has a library, which encourages guests to flip through the pages, initiate conversations, and stay longer, according to a social media post.
“A bar should have stories you can sip… and stories you can sit with,” the bar said in the Instagram post.
Plans are underway to expand to a full liquor program in the near future.

Early demand for the concept has been strong, Beau noted in the statement. Reservations for a private VIP opening event were filled within 22 minutes, attracting local tastemakers, media, and community members.
The bar offers a house membership, which allows members to attend monthly private evenings and get priority access to events, releases, and merchandise, according to its website.
Beau will also host ticketed and invitation-only events, which will feature wine tastings and pairing evenings, champagne celebrations, winemaker dinners, guest chef experiences, and live music and performances.
Despite the early interest in Beau, the concept is designed to evolve over time with new elements and discoveries, and more reasons to return over time, Hall said.
“The first mystery is already in place,” she said, adding that it was only the beginning of the story.
