On June 11, 2025, Santa Barbara Police Department (SBPD) patrol officers conducted a significant traffic stop on the northbound Highway 101 Mission Street on-ramp, resulting in the arrest of Michael Reigard, a suspect with a felony warrant out of Ventura County.

Reigard was stopped while driving his vehicle, and a subsequent search revealed a substantial amount of illegal substances and cash. Officers discovered quantities of fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine, alongside an electronic scale and over $32,000 in cash, indicating potential involvement in drug sales.

The felony warrant for Reigard was related to possession for sales of heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamine. The discovery during the traffic stop further substantiated these allegations.

Reigard has been booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for possession for sales of methamphetamine, possession for sales of fentanyl/heroin, and an existing felony warrant. His bail is set at $500,000. The SBPD continues its investigations into the case.

  1. Interesting story with great photos. But it was 9 days ago?

I was looking for a Hwy 101 story about the Thursday jam coming into Somerland at 4pm.

Calitrans sign said “Traffic Stopped Ahead”…

so i exited before Summerland and took the 192 – ugh. It needs widening and bike lanes.

    and fewer 5 mph curves?

I should have gone back to Carp and had dinner….

  2. I’ve seen this guy before camped out with his tweaker friends on that stretch of Hope Ave. Near LA Cumbre plaza and figured him to be a drug dealer.
    And I was right.
I saw the arrest and his vehicle get towed from the Arco station at Mission and State after they arrested him.

  3. And because of California’s Democrat “no bail policy”
This skunk was on the street selling narcotics again when he already had an a warrant out for his arrest.
When he should have been in State prison.
These are all liberal Democrat policies that lead to this type of activity. These are the facts.
