Santa Barbara International Film Festival Begins Tonight!

By edhat staff

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) kicks off Wednesday night with free movies at two oceanfront drive-through locations.

The opening night film “Invisible Valley” is already sold out, but a variety of other films are open and ready for viewing from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. through Saturday, April 10.

Both drive-in theatres are located in the lower parking lots of Santa Barbara City College at Loma Alta Road and Shoreline Drive. Ushers are trained to direct vehicles to parking spots and there are no concession stands, but guests are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks.

SBIFF joined the ranks of other film festivals this past year in having to pivot their programming and schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reservations for each drive-through film will begin at 8:00 a.m. the day before showtime at sbiff.org/drivein.

All other films, tributes, panels, and interviews can be purchased to view at sbiff.org.

The 36th Santa Barbara International Film Festival, presented by UGG, will take place March 31st through April 10th, 2021 online and at two free ocean-front drive-in theatres. More information, festival passes and tickets are available at www.sbiff.org.
