Santa Barbara Humane is proud to announce the success of its recent community outreach efforts, where a total of 688 free veterinary services were provided to 242 animals. These services were offered during two major events: the August 10 Vaccine Day and Open House at the organization’s Santa Barbara Campus and the August 18 Day in the Park event at Waller Park in Santa Maria.
At the August 10 Vaccine Day and Open House, held at Santa Barbara Humane’s Santa Barbara Campus, pet owners from across the community were able to access essential veterinary services, including free DA2PP and FVRCP vaccines and microchipping. The event, which was co-hosted by Senator Monique Limon, also provided an opportunity for community members to learn more about the critical services Santa Barbara Humane provides, including veterinary care, dog training, and a pet supply pantry.
On August 18, Santa Barbara Humane continued its outreach to the Santa Maria community with the Day in the Park event. This fun and family-friendly annual event provided another opportunity for pet owners to access vital veterinary services like vaccines, flea treatments, and microchips at no cost, ensuring that pets in the region remain healthy and protected. The Day in the Park event drew a significant turnout of local residents seeking affordable and accessible care for their pets.
“We’re thrilled to have made such a significant impact through these events,” said Dr. Katie Marrie, Chief Veterinary Officer at Santa Barbara Humane. “By providing these essential services, we are helping to ensure that more animals in our community receive the care they need, which is especially important as we continue to work towards our goal of keeping pets healthy and with the families who love them.”
Santa Barbara Humane remains committed to offering accessible and affordable veterinary care to the community, and these events are a testament to that commitment. The organization plans to continue hosting similar events in the future, with the aim of reaching even more families with animals in need of care.
