Booo! SBHS Demobilizes the Dons

It wasn’t the fault of the flu – it was the lack of linemen. “Owing to war conditions,” the local paper announced, “the athletic policy of the local high school has been entirely altered for the coming year. Football is dropped from its list of sport activities. In its stead, the school will play baseball.”

So many boys from the football team had volunteered or been drafted, that the team was disbanded for the 1918-1919 school year.
