Santa Barbara County Fire Responds to Accident in Solvang

On Tuesday, July 18 at 5:27 p.m., the Santa Barbara County Fire Department (SBCFD) responded to a reported vehicle accident in Solvang at Mesa Vista Lane and Chalk Hill Road.

SBCFD Public Information Officer Mike Eliason reported a solo male in his 50’s was found in his vehicle after skidding approximately 200 meters off the roadway. The vehicle broke through a gate and landed in a ravine. 

Firefighters made a minor extrication and the man was assessed with moderate injuries. He was flown via CalStar 7 to Cottage Hospital. 

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
