Santa Barbara County Fair Canceled

The organizers of the 2020 Santa Barbara County Fair held at the Santa Maria Fairpark have canceled this year’s events due to COVID-19.

The Santa Maria Fairpark Board of Directors met Tuesday afternoon and decided the event was not possible due to the pandemic.

This is the first time the fair has been canceled since World War II.

The carnival had reportedly pulled out of the event and entertainment bookings were expected to do the same.

The board is creating a refund policy for vendors, exhibitors, and sponsors.

Other events scheduled at the Fairpark including West Coast Kustoms Cruisin’ Nationals from October 2-4 and the Santa Maria Fall Fest from October 23-26 are still scheduled for the time being.
