Santa Barbara County District Attorney John Savrnoch announced that a felony complaint has been filed against Segun Ogunleye, 34, of Fillmore, California.
Mr. Ogunleye is a custody sergeant with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office and, according to the Sheriff’s Office, is currently on administrative leave.
He faces 114 criminal counts, including Misappropriation of Public Funds, Grand Theft, Presentation of Fraudulent Claims, False Entries in Records, and Money Laundering. The complaint further alleges excessive loss enhancements based on the amount of public funds taken.
Mr. Ogunleye appeared today, February 2, 2026, in Department 8 of the Santa Barbara Superior Court for arraignment.
The arraignment was continued to March 2, 2026. Mr. Ogunleye was released by the Court on his own recognizance.
He had previously been held in custody at the Ventura County Jail on $150,000 bail following his arrest on January 29, 2026.
