SANTA BARBARA COUNCIL & ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETINGS: WEEK OF MAR 14

By an edhat reader
Week of March 14-18: SB city council and commission meetings
Here's the weekly listing of meetings of the Santa Barbara city council and various city commissions. All now are by webinar/Zoom. A long-time Edhat subscriber, concerned about government transparency, thought it would be helpful and interesting for the community to have accessible a weekly listing of selected meetings, those of possible Santa Barbara city-wide interest. We agreed. Please tell us what you think, good idea, waste of time, suggestions for improvement? Last week, there were requests for coverage of Carpinteria and Goleta; volunteers to do that, please contact ed@edhat.com.
Santa Barbara City has a calendar of meetings; here's the calendar for March: https://www.santabarbaraca.gov/cals/. In addition, City TV covers many of the meetings and has reruns; here's the programming page: https://www.santabarbaraca.gov/gov/depts/cityadmin/programming.asp

Mar 14, 2022 12:34 PMABR, this afternoon, is about 618 Olive Street, not Garden; and the HLC on Wednesday, the police station, is 601 Santa Barbara Street (formerly 119 E. Cota), not Garden Street. That's the advantage of making the extra effort and having the link to the agendas: you can double check! If you see an error, please write in the comments so others will also have the correct address.

Mar 14, 2022 07:06 PMThat's great! Santa Barbara city should learn from Carpinteria and have something similar. If we had that listing of all of our city meetings, this posting would not be needed. Edhat is great but the listings roll down after a day or so and having a listing for the archives of _all_ the meetings would be helpful. But since it took the City of SB so long to have available the minutes of the council, and none of the councilmembers even protested publicly their absence, we shouldn't hold breath for a listing in one place of the public meetings on the city website.

Mar 14, 2022 07:33 PMI don't disagree, but it doesn't take much to click on "all news" and follow up on old news and discussions. Then you'll see how upset people get -- for a day or two -- and then drop the issue! It's funny.
I'll bet Edhat can make this SB City meeting info a tab. Email them.
