Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) has announced a partnership with the local nonprofit organization Pacific Pride Foundation in honor of Pride 2025. The partnership will promote community engagement during Pride Month and PPF’s annual Pacific Pride Festival. It is also a step towards promoting inclusivity within Santa Barbara.

Highlights

  • Santa Barbara Airport is partnering with the local nonprofit Pacific Pride Foundation for Pride Month.
  • The Pacific Pride Foundation is set to hold the Pacific Pride Festival’s 2025 edition in collaboration with SB City and SBA.
  • This collaboration follows Mayor Rowse’s June 10 proclamation recognizing Pride Month.

Santa Barbara City and Airport to Sponsor Pacific Pride Festival in August

Travelers at SBA will notice new banners for Pride Month. These will be up through June and hang from the tower situated outside the airport’s front entrance. Moreover, several “PPF activations and ads will also appear inside the terminal until the end of August.”

The Pacific Pride Festival is set to take place on August 23, 2025, at Chase Palm Park. The celebration is sponsored by the City of Santa Barbara as well as the SBA and is free for all to attend. It will feature dance, live musical performances, and a selection of food trucks and community vendors.

Previously, on June 10, 2025, Santa Barbara Mayor Randy Rowse offered a proclamation to the PPF to recognize their work towards inclusivity, dignity, and equality for all people, as well as to mark SB City’s history of allyship.

Julio C. Roman, Executive Director of the Pacific Pride Foundation, said in a statement, “This proclamation and airport display speak volumes. It’s about celebrating the beautiful diversity of Santa Barbara while sending a message of affirmation to every traveler who passes through. It’s an honor to partner with the City as we mark 50 years of the Pacific Pride Foundation showing up for our community.”

Santa Barbara City has issued a press release with more information about the Pride Month Proclamation. The Pacific Pride Foundation’s official website has further information.
