Santa Ana Winds?

By an edhat reader

Did anyone else feel the hot winds last night? We were in Goleta off old San Marcos Pass near Cathedral Oaks.

  1. I realize this was in the title, but not the post… we don’t get Santa Ana’s here. We get something unique referred to as ‘Sundowners’. Our topography generally precludes us from the Santa Ana winds. Watch the animation of this, you’ll see the Santa Ana’s develop south of us, go out over the water. Starts around 6pm tomorrow. Last I saw it wrapped around and ended up in Paso Robles, but it seems that model shifted it to stay out over the water. Keep in mind, the flag is close to 2800′, so won’t reflect SB/Goleta climes. https://www.windy.com/?namConus,950h,2020-09-10-06,34.895,-119.268,8,m:eCFacPu
