Safe Boating Week

Santa Barbara Harbor Patrol officers are checking for life vests, proper registration and emergency gear as part of Safe Boating Week. There are even rules for paddle boarders.   This week they also demonstrated flares sending orange smoke into the air near the Yacht club. Santa Barbara has over 1000 vessels in the harbor including an active commercial fleet, recreational boats, whale watching vessels and an outrigger club.
