Robitaille’s Fine Candies Announces it will Close on December 1st

Robitaille's Fine Candies on Linden Ave in Carpinteria

After more than three decades of sweetening the lives of locals and visitors alike, Robitaille’s Fine Candies has announced that it will shutter its doors come December 1st.

The renowned chocolate confectioner, a fixture on Linden Avenue since its inception, has been a labor of love and a source of pride for the Robitaille family along with the community it served.

Establishing itself as a Carpinteria landmark since opening at the start of 1989, three generations of the Robitaille family led by John and Tami Robitaille have poured their hearts into the business, creating a sweet sanctuary for many. Gourmet confections like their chocolate turtles, peanut caramel clusters, and holiday fudge cups became reasons not just to visit but to return time and again.

In an emotional statement the family expressed deep gratitude for the support and camaraderie they have experienced: “It has been a true privilege to watch generations grow up with us – to see kids who once ran in with sandy feet now bringing in their own little ones. Each smile, each laugh, each story has made our candy store feel like so much more than a business.”

With heavy hearts, John and Tami divulged their intentions to focus on making memories with their own growing family.

Reaction from the community was instantaneous and heartfelt, with comments pouring in on social media today, moments after the announcement.

“My mom always had a box of the pastel mints to serve with coffee when we had guests over,” wrote one commenter. “Growing up after school we would always stop for a treat. Those were great memories,” posted another.

The family ends their message with touching finality and hope: “Though it’s time for us to close our doors, we will carry these memories with us forever. Thank you for supporting us, for filling our shop with laughter and for being a part of our story.”

Locals and visitors alike have three more weeks to enjoy these tasty treats before they permanently close.
